I was working at my job, as a nurse aide.   It was the first and last time I worked night shift (10-6). I had just opened the door to the living room because it was so hot inside. I walked back into the a patients room to check on them. When I suddenly heard a child laughing.

I thought maybe a child had seen the open door and walked in to what was in there. So I walked towards the door of the resident's room entering the living room, looking out the front door I seen a lil girl.

She was maybe 4 years old, she had blond, curly hair, in piggytails. She was wearing a very old outfit probably from the 20's. I stared in amazement as she played in the front yard. A few mintues later she was gone!

When one of the other workers arrived, I asked my her about what I had seen, she had worked there for sometime and knew a good deal about the house and she told me the personal care home used to be a home for unwed mothers and they kept the children on the second floor until they were adopted.

They only time they got to come down was for an hour a day where they played in the front yard and then they returned to the upstairs. She had seen the lil girl a few months b4 I started and dismissed it b/c she felt she was just tired from staying up all night and was just seeing things.

A few weeks later me and the woman was upstair cleaning the attic. No one had been up there for yrs b/c every employee said they got a spooky feeling when they got to the door. As we were going thru all the old things up there we came across a very old set of files that was left from when it had been a home for unwed mothers & their children. We started flipping thru the files and we came across on the caught our eye.

It was on a lil girl who had died in the 20's in the house when the 2nd floor caught on fire. That must have been the child we seen! The odd thing was only one room had caught on fire everyone survived but her.
